So in case you missed it, which unless you live under a rock doesn't seem possible, last night Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a laser beam grand Tuco Salamanca off a 3-0 pitch that took the Pads from being up 7 to being up 11.
Fernando Tatis Jr. smacked a grand slam on a 3-0 count with a big lead, leading to criticism from both managers.

What do you think about this unwritten rule in baseball?

If you are a baseball fan and haven't heard or been paying attention to El Nino then you are on some dumb shit because this kid is an absolute stud. The 21 year old is well on his way to becoming the face of baseball and he couldn't be cooler while doing it. Even though I'm a Tigers fan this kid is like 90% of the reason I've adopted the Pads as my NL team, absolute monster. But here is where things get interesting, unlike the game that was actually played because the Rangers stink and got annihilated by Tatis.
According to the human female reproductive organ that is the manager of the Texas Rangers, Chris Woodward, Tatis should have never swung at a 3-0 pitch since.... the Padres had a lead? And should've laid down the bat and waited for a walk I guess.
Rangers manager Chris Woodward on Fernando Tatis Jr. swinging 3-0 on his grand slam: "I didn't like it personally. You're up by 7 in the 8th inning, it's typically not a good time 3-0. It's kind of the way we were all raised in the game. But ... the norms are being challenged."

My questions to that dickhead Woodward would be: is Tatis supposed to assume your're just going to walk him? Is a 7 run lead a 100% guarenteed victory? Why are you involved with a game that you seem to want to suck the fun out of? I mean, him saying that Tatis broke an "unwritten rule" by swinging at that pitch is the most sore loser thing I have ever heard, the guy shouldve been removed from his position the moment he spewed that idiotic bs. But wait, it gets worse.
After all that, Tatis' own manager had this to say:
Tingler saying he’d rather his own player take a strike than hit a grand slam holy shit what a dumb soft sport baseball can be sometimes. Constantly caught in its feelings. pic.twitter.com/58R1xRZ3m0

............. whatsup bro??? Are you fucking serious?? Tingler should've gone into that press conference Randy Marsh style, except instead of his nuts he's carrying Tatis' nuts in the wheelbarrow. Tingler should have said the exact opposite of what he did say. Guy should've doubled, tripled, quadruple downed on his franchise player hitting a pisser of a grand slam. Instead he put his tail between his legs and apologized like a wet stinky dog. Pussy.
I would not be surprised, neigh, I would almost expect Fernando to want to get out of dodge asap. No supernova athlete should be playing for a wet blanket team and manager like that! Fernando, you know who would've had your back? Ron Gardenhire, Al Avila, me, and the entire city of Detroit. If Tatis is thinking 4 moves ahead then his trade request to come to Detroit has already been filed. Hard nose, blue collar city that would fucking eat up having its guys hit tanks while we were up 20, it doesn't fucking matter baby! I will leave you with one last promise my sweet Fernando: if you do decide to ever come to Detroit I promise you nobody will ever tell you to take a strike instead of hitting a grand slam, never.
